The Seminole Soil & Water Conservation District is looking for people to run for the vacant seat left by Pat Wilson's resignation from her Group 5 position. Based on F.S. 582.19(5), "After the issuance of a certificate of organization of a soil and water conservation district by the Department of State, or in the event of a vacancy resulting from death, resignation, removal, or otherwise, each vacancy shall be filled by appointment by the remaining supervisors of the district until the next regular election". This means that the SSWCD will appoint someone to fill the vacancy and can come from anywhere in Seminole County. The appointment will be held at the upcoming Seminole Soil & Water Conservation District meeting held December 12, 2023, at 6:30 PM located at the UF IFAS Seminole County Office located at 250 County Home Road, Sanford, FL 32773
